After more than two years of intensive coordination, planning, and construction work, 26 months to be exact, Horsham Township officials have announced that more than 20 utility companies have now completed the relocation of their infrastructure of the Blair Mill Road widening project.
This critical milestone clears the way for the next phase of work on Blair Mill Road, according to township officials.
With utility relocation now complete, the primary contractor, Michael Baker International, is scheduled to return to the site to begin the long-awaited road construction phase. Crews are expected to mobilize and resume work by late June or early July. We anticipate that the main roadway construction will be substantially completed by the end of this calendar year.
Following the completion of roadwork, landscaping, site restoration, and remaining punch list items will be addressed in the spring of next year to ensure final project quality and appearance.
Meanwhile, planning is well underway for Phase III—the final segment of the overall Blair Mill Road improvement project. This phase is currently in the design, engineering, and permitting stage. Once completed, which is projected by the end of 2030, Blair Mill Road will be expanded to five lanes from Welsh Road to Easton Road. This phase will also include major intersection enhancements at Blair Mill Road and Easton Road to improve traffic flow and safety.
As work progresses, we will continue to provide timely updates and will notify you in advance of any lane restrictions or detours. We understand that ongoing construction can be inconvenient, and we sincerely appreciate your continued patience and cooperation as we work to improve our transportation infrastructure for the entire community.
