The Jalen Hurts discourse is exhausting at this point. Every week it feels like a new quarterback list comes out and Hurts is the center of conversation. Whether it's Cam Newton leaving Hurts out of his top 10 or Fox Sports' Danny Parkins saying the Eagles would accept a trade for Justin Herbert if the Los Angeles Chargers offered it, the conversation around Hurts is endless.
Another list was created Thursday, but this time it's a less serious one. EA Sports revealed its Top 10 rated quarterbacks ahead of Madden 26 being released in a couple weeks. Hurts earned an 86 overall rating, tied with Herbert for the seventh among quarterbacks in the game. Despite winning Super Bowl MVP, Hurts' rating stayed the same as Madden 25, where he started out tied for the eighth-highest quarterback ranking:

In the latest edition of the game — which will be released on Aug. 14 —Hurts is ranked behind Jared Goff (87), Matthew Stafford (88), Patrick Mahomes (95), Joe Burrow (97), Lamar Jackson (99) and Josh Allen (99). Hurts typically finds himself in the 7-10 range in quarterback rankings, so Madden is somewhat accurate with its depiction. Jayden Daniels being the 10th-best quarterback with an 85 overall rating is interesting after he was a trendy pick for the fifth-best quarterback in the NFL this offseason.
Saquon Barkley is the cover star of Madden 26 and is in the "99 Club" as the the highest rated player in the game. Lane Johnson joined Barkley in the "99 Club" after it was announced Monday. Johnson is just the fourth-ever offensive lineman to earn the maximum rating.
Ja'Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson and Myles Garrett complete the list of 99-rated players in Madden 26, alongside Allen, Jackson, Barkley and Johnson.
Maybe one day Hurts will be a part of that group. Based off the fact he won Super Bowl MVP and didn't even get a slight bump in his rating, it's hard to see that happening anytime soon.
