The Borough of Jenkintown has been informed by PECO’s contractor, J.K. Kiely Construction, that important infrastructure work will require temporary traffic restrictions in the area.
Beginning the evening of Monday, July 28 through the morning of Wednesday, July 30, there will be temporary lane restrictions on York Road at the intersection of West Avenue to allow for the safe and necessary replacement of a gas main.
As part of this project, West Avenue will be fully closed between York Road and Cottman Street. These restrictions are expected to be in place during overnight work hours, from 8:00 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. each night, to minimize daytime traffic disruption and ensure the safety of workers and the public.
Motorists are strongly encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate routes during these hours, as delays and detours should be expected in the surrounding area. Appropriate signage and traffic control personnel will be on site to assist with detours and maintain public safety.
This scheduled overnight work is a necessary part of ongoing efforts to upgrade utility infrastructure in the Borough of Jenkintown.
If you have any questions or concerns regarding this construction activity, residents are urged to contact PECO’s customer service line at 610-832-6420.
