Have you ever wondered how certain township projects get approved or ever wondered what goes on at the township’s council meetings? Then Horsham’s brand new program might give you the answers.
Horsham Township announced that is launching the Horsham Citizens Municipal Academy, a program designed to provide residents an inside look at local government and help foster connections between residents and local government officials.
“Residents will have the opportunity to learn more about their local government and how municipal services are provided in Horsham Township,” the township said on its website. “Following in the footsteps of our Citizens Police Academy, join us to find out more about the other areas of local government.”
The free program, which lasts eight weeks long, is open to all Horsham residents who are 18 or older. It begins March 6 and runs every Thursday night until April 28, from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The program will include hands-on demonstrations, tours and fun activities.
Space in the program is limited and the township is asking residents to submit the sign-up form no later than Feb. 7. Any questions can be directed to Mike Shinton at [email protected].
“Don't miss this incredible opportunity to connect with your community," the website said.
This program follows the success of Horsham's Citizens Police Academy, which also aims to foster better connections between its residents and police officers through a 1o-week free program. The program originally launched in 2000.
