The Hatboro Borough Council approved the sale of the Hatboro District Court at its recent December meeting.
The old courthouse, located at 414 S. York Road, will be sold to Victorian Village for $300,000, and the company plans to expand its 55 and over luxury apartments around Borough Hall (formerly Loller Academy, 420 S. York Rd.).
Prior to the sale, Victorian Village had already begun expanding around the property, and the new apartment building is expected to be completed by summer 2025.
Solicitor Rebecca Geiser and Borough Manager Diane Hegele advertised the request for proposals in October, and came to the decision over the last few months after mulling over proposals.
The building became obsolete after the two courts in Hatboro and Horsham Township were consolidated into one at the start of 2024.

According to the Victorian Village website, amenities include: two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, walk-in closets, open kitchen, eat-in kitchen, dining room, living room, full size laundry, storage unit, two parking spaces, upgraded floors, fans, 1,530 sq. ft. units, and a historic library in new Building D.
