A pedestrian struck along Horsham's West County Line Road Friday night dies as a result of injuries

A pedestrian who was struck on Friday evening has succumbed to injuries and passed away, police say.

As previously covered by Horsham Now, a two-door, dark-colored pick-up truck struck a pedestrian around 7:30 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 3 along West County Line Road. The road splits both Warrington Township in Bucks County, as well as Horsham Township in Montgomery County.

Police said that, when they arrived at the scene, there were several witnesses assisting the victim by performing CPR. The victim was then transported to Jefferson-Abington Hospital for injures. Sadly, police reported, the person passed away as a result of those injuries.

The striking vehicle did remain at the scene, police said. The driver was cooperating with police and the investigation. At this time, no criminal charges have been filed.

Responding the accident were the Eastern Montgomery County Crash Team to assist Horsham Township Police Officers with the crash investigation. West County Line Road was shut down during the incident, and as first responders both assisted the victim and cleared the roadway, to all traffic between Norristown Road and Henry Avenue for several hours on Friday night.

At this time, the parties' names are not being released to the public, as the investigation is still ongoing. Anyone who witnessed or has information about the crash is urged to contact the Horsham Township Police Department at (215) 643-8284.
