Breaking: fire reported in first-floor classroom at Hatboro-Horsham High School

Crews responded to the scene around 8:40 a.m. Friday morning

Montgomery County dispatch reported a building fire at Hatboro-Horsham High School, 899 Horsham Road, around 8:40 a.m. Friday morning.

A small fire broke out in a first-floor classroom of the school and students have been evacuated as fire crews are on scene.

According to the Hatboro Police Department, the cause is unknown and officials are still investigating the scene.

A spokesperson from the high school indicated that evacuated students are expected to resume classroom activities once the fire is extinguished. 

Crews from Horsham Fire Company, Wissahickon Fire Company, Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro, Fort Washington Fire Company and the Upper Moreland Township Fire Department are on scene.
