A Philadelphia man who claimed he illegally bought a handgun from someone on the “street” for protection and then concealed it in the woods near his Horsham workplace is now facing jail time, according to The Mercury.
Tynerh Kani Henry, 21, of the 800 block of East Cheltenham Avenue in Philadelphia, was sentenced to 11½ to 23 months in county jail after pleading guilty to charges of carrying a firearm without a license, illegal sale or transfer of a firearm, and conspiracy in relation to a December 2023 incident in Horsham.
Judge Risa Vetri Ferman ordered Henry to report to jail on March 3 to start his sentence.
Additionally, Henry will be required to complete two years of probation after his parole, meaning he will be under court supervision for a total of about four years.
The judge also ruled that the 9mm firearm seized during the investigation would be forfeited to the district attorney's office for destruction.
The investigation began around 1:30 p.m. on Dec. 14, 2023, when Horsham police responded to the 700 block of Electronic Drive. Employees at one of the businesses in the area had discovered a firearm hidden in the tree line, according to the criminal complaint filed by Horsham Detective Michael Peter.
