The Horsham Township Code Department is making it easier for residents to pay their transactions.
The Township recently announced the Horsham Township Code Department will now accepting credit card payments for all code-related transactions, including permits, inspections and other fees.
Residents can submit a payment securely using their preferred credit card. A 3% convenience fee will be applied to all credit card transactions.
The department's main function is to enforce and uphold various codes, ordinances, and regulations that ensure the safety, health, and well-being of the community. This includes overseeing building construction, property maintenance, zoning laws, and other safety-related standards.
Some key responsibilities of the Code Department include:
- Building Permits and Inspections: The department issues permits for construction, renovation, or demolition projects. It ensures that construction work meets safety codes and building standards. Inspections are done during and after the project to confirm compliance.
- Zoning and Land Use: The department enforces zoning laws that regulate how land in the township can be used (e.g., residential, commercial, industrial). It also reviews applications for variances or special exceptions to zoning regulations.
- Property Maintenance: The department ensures that properties are maintained according to local standards, addressing issues such as overgrown lawns, abandoned vehicles, and structural safety.
