Tierra Melanie Nesmith 37, of the 2100 block of Homer Street of Philadelphia, faces additional charges of access device fraud stemming from an incident at the LA Fitness in the Huntingdon Valley section of Upper Moreland Township, according to police.
After a first victim reported that a pair of her credit cards were missing, a second victim came forward to the Upper Moreland Police Department on Sunday, Feb. 2, after receiving a text message indicating there was possible fraud on her credit card accounts, according to police.
Around 1:52 p.m., the victim reported that a $500 purchase was attempted at Rite Aid, 2181 E. County Line Road. In the locker room, the victim discovered that her Louis Vuitton wallet was missing from her purse, according to police. The wallet also contained $450 to $500 in cash. The debit purchase for $500 was declined, but another purchase of $334.56 was made, according to police.
That same day, around 4:00 p.m., another victim came forward to the police department to report that her car keys were missing from her gym locker. Upon entering the parking lot, the victim discovered that her car was unlocked, her purse that was under her seat was moved, $50 in cash was missing and a $25 Sephora gift card was missing, a Wells Fargo debit card was missing and an American Heritage Credit Card was missing, according to police. Both cards were used at the same Rite Aid and an additional $165.44 purchase was made. A $500 purchase was declined at Rite Aid, according to police.
Police reviewed CCTV footage from Rite Aid and determined it was the same female from an earlier report, who has multiple active warrants for theft and fraud crimes, according to police.
On Feb. 5, Whitemarsh Police Department arrested Nesmith and she admitted to being the woman in the CCTV pictures, according to police.
