The Oreland Volunteer Fire Company celebrated two significant milestones this week.

At its February monthly meeting, the fire company celebrated William “Satch” Stainesby’s 90th birthday, which was on Jan. 27. The birthday celebration also coincides with the 74th anniversary of Stainesby joining the ranks after he turned 16-years-old in 1951.

“Satch has literally dedicated his entire life to protecting his community and all who live and have lived here for three-quarters of a century,” the company commented on social media. “He is an inspiration to all of us and to future generations of firefighters who follow in his footsteps.”

Many people reached out on social media to congratulate “Satch” for his accomplishments and service.

“Congratulations to Satch !! Thank for your Dedication !!” one user wrote.

Another user wrote, “Nice celebration for a dedicated man. Happy Birthday.”

“CONGRATULATIONS! THATS quite a Milestone! Not many of those guys left!!” a third said.
