Horsham police discover man with stolen gun from North Carolina during stop at Wawa, police say

Samuel Leeroy Coleman, 34, of the 2700 block of Philadelphia, was charged with three felony counts connected to illegally possessing a firearm And receiving stolen property. 

According to the Horsham Police Department, an officer observed a Coleman asleep in a black Jeep Grand Cherokee parked at the Wawa at 101 Easton Road. He had a red blanket covering his face, according to police.

The officer then observed an unholstered handgun with an extended magazine in the cup holder, according to police. 

The National Crime Information Center (NCIC) revealed no active permit to conceal or carry a firearm in Pennsylvania, according to police. The NCIC report also revealed that the firearm was stolen from Troy, N.C., according to police. 

Coleman admitted that the firearm was his and he purchased it a while ago, according to police. Coleman also admitted that he did not have a permit to carry the firearm, according to police.
