UPDATE: According to reports from Montgomery County Dispatch, a stabbing incident over the weekend in Horsham Township involved a mother and son.
A heavy police scene descended upon the 300 block of Summer Avenue in Horsham Township on Friday around 1:30 p.m. near Woodlawn and Cottage avenues, after a reported stabbing that sent on woman to Abington Memorial Hospital.
The victim was transported by Horsham Fire Co. Ambulance for treatment of injuries and the man was seen being placed into the back of a Lower Gwynedd Police patrol car, according to reports from the scene.
The stabbing was reported at 1:35 p.m. to Montgomery County emergency dispatch, where the caller informed dispatchers that a 35-year-old man was stabbing their 69-year-old mother in the living room, according to emergency dispatch reports.
Police placed the suspected assaulter in custody around 2:15 p.m.
The extent of injuries of the victim is unknown.
Horsham Police arrived on scene.
