A heavy police scene has descended upon the 300 block of Summer Avenue in Horsham Township, near Woodlawn and Cottage avenues, after a reported stabbing that sent on woman to Abington Memorial Hospital by Horsham Fire Co. Ambulance for treatment of injuries and sent a man into the back of a Lower Gwynedd Police patrol car, according to reports from the scene.
The stabbing was reported at 1:35 p.m. to Montgomery County emergency dispatch, where the caller informed dispatchers that a 35-year-old man was stabbing their 69-year-old mother in the living room, according to emergency dispatch reports.
Police placed the suspected assaulter in custody around 2:15 p.m.
The extent of injuries of the victim is unknown.
Horsham Police are on scene.
