A Philadelphia man has been sentenced to eight years of court supervision for helping supply firearms to a multi-county gun-trafficking ring, according to a report.
Emanuel Eduardo Torres, 33, pleaded guilty in Montgomery County Court to participating in the illegal transfer of four guns to Scott Michael Grondin, the leader of a firearms and drug-trafficking organization operating in Montgomery, Delaware, Chester, and Philadelphia counties. Torres received a sentence of 52 days already served to 23 months in jail, followed by six years of probation.
According to reports, their ring trafficked at least 17 firearms, only seven of which have been recovered, and distributed methamphetamine, fentanyl, cocaine, and marijuana. Many of the guns had their serial numbers removed to hinder investigations.
According to the report, Torres admitted he legally transferred his firearms to a co-conspirator, knowing they would ultimately go to Grondin, who was barred from possessing guns due to a prior conviction. That co-conspirator, Anthony Figueroa-Marko, and several others, were also sentenced for straw-purchasing firearms for the organization.
