The dog days of summer are upon us, but don’t worry, there are plenty of ways to beat the heat.


Saturday night, you can enjoy the cool sounds of the Mark Margolies Band at Vintage Bar & Grille. And on Wednesday night, Punch Line Comedy Club in Philadelphia is hosting “Comedy Allstars,” so prepare for a night of laughs.


This weekend the Borough of Doylestown is also hosting another one of its popular block parties. This time it is at Printers Alley, off E. State Street.


Don’t miss your chance to participate in Lower Your Expectations 7 at Corporal William Sydor VFW. Enjoy some good cooking and laugh the night away.


Poets and all lovers of words are invited this week to a Pasta & Poetry night at the U.D.T.J. Community Center in Upper Darby.


Dogs and their owners are also invited to a pet-friendly day at Skippack Village, and Stone and Key in Ambler is hosting a wine, cider and cheese tasting.


For the kids, there is a fun Play Dough Party! Planned at the Perkiomen Valley Library at Schwenksville.

On Friday, August 22 and Saturday, August 23, 5 p.m., the Doylestown Borough is holding another Borough Block Party. This one will be at Printers Alley, off E. State Street.

Restaurants and shops along Printers Alley will be expanding into the street for family-friendly fun, including street games and live music.
