Raising money for childhood cancer is a powerful way to support life-saving research, provide care for young patients and their families, and bring hope to children fighting some of the toughest battles of their lives. Every dollar raised contributes to improved treatments, better outcomes, and the dream of a future where no child has to face cancer.
Hatboro-Horsham School District did its part as it hosted its Mini-THON event on Saturday, April 26, to help raise money to fight pediatric cancer. Students helped raise nearly $30,000.
"Our grand total was $29,109.13," said Anthony Adamucci, co-advisor of Mini-THON. "All money raised is going toward childhood cancer research and the families affected by this terrible disease."
In the U.S., 16,000 children under the age of 19 are diagnosed with cancer each year – that’s one child about every 33 minutes.
