  • Things To Do

First Friday officially returned to the Borough of Hatboro in April, and the feedback received was overwhelmingly positive from residents, local businesses, and the Hatboro Chamber of Commerce.

Now, to capitalize on the success of the program, Hatboro is bringing back the Hungry Hideaway outdoor dining area — an initiative originally organized by the Borough in 2020 and 2021, where a portion of Williams Lane closes off to create a pedestrian-friendly dining space during summer months.

Following the First Friday held in April, the Borough of Hatboro received many requests from residents to bring back outdoor dining. The Borough is responding by making the outdoor dining area available on all First Friday events in 2025. The dining areas will now rotate between Williams Lane and East Monument Avenue, giving more local businesses along Main Street a chance to participate in the community events.

Hosted by the Greater Hatboro Chamber of Commerce, these events aim to boost local foot traffic by featuring extended hours for businesses, sidewalk sales, restaurant specials, family-friendly activities, and more.

The first outdoor dining setup of the season will take place on Williams Lane on Friday, May 2 through Monday, May 5, until 6:30 a.m.

To accommodate the setup, Williams Lane (between York Road and the rear entrance to Ross N Co’s driveway) will be closed to all vehicular traffic starting at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, May 2. This closure will remain in effect until Public Works reopens the road around 6:30 a.m. on Monday, May 5. There will be no through-traffic on Williams Lane between York Road and Orchard Avenue during this time.

All parked vehicles must be removed from the closed section of Williams Lane before 1:00 p.m. on May 2. Meter bags will be placed on the meters in advance to deter on-street parking in the area.

Emergency services, including police, fire, and EMS, have been notified in advance of the closure to ensure public safety is not impacted.

Anyone with questions regarding the closure can contact Hatboro Borough Hall at 215-443-9100.
