Horsham Township and the Borough of Hatboro is looking for a few good meds.
On Saturday, April 26, Horsham and Hatboro will participate in the National Prescription Drug Take Back Day by hosting a collection site at the GIANT located at 314 Horsham Road.
Collections will be accepted from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
In conjunction with the Horsham Police Department and the Hatboro Police Department, the Montgomery County District Attorney's Office, State Police, and other local law enforcement agencies aim to remove potentially dangerous controlled substances from resident's medicine cabinets.
A National Take-Back Day will provide a unified opportunity for the public to surrender expired, unwanted, or unused pharmaceutical controlled substances and other medications to law enforcement officers for safe destruction.
This one-day effort will bring national focus to the issue of pharmaceutical-controlled substance abuse. Any controlled, non-controlled, and over-the-counter medications will be accepted for safe disposal. Still, sharps and syringes will not be accepted due to safety concerns about the potential threat of blood-borne pathogens.
