Police arrest Hatboro resident for simple assault, harassment

The Hatboro Police Department has announced the arrest of Ann Marie Placido, 55.

Police officers from the Hatboro Police Department were dispatched to a residence in the Borough of Hatboro for a report of assault. 

According to court documents, Placido lived with her 20-year-old niece, and Placido woke her niece up to tell her to clean up the bathroom. According to court documents, the niece did not get up right away and was assaulted because of it.

The niece told police officers that Placido struck her with a glass picture frame, causing it to break and and causing pieces of glass to end up on the floor outside the bedroom. According to police, the niece's face was red, she had a scratch under her eye, scratch marks on both her arms and shoulders, and a bloody lip.

Placido Upon investigation, officers took Placido into custody for simple assault  and harassment. 

According to police, the incident is still under investigation and no further details are being released at this time.

All persons are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
