Multiple fire companies responded to a house fire on the 200 block of S. Warminster Road in Hatboro Monday night just before 5 p.m.
Reports indicated that the house was “fully involved” in flames, and people were possibly entrapped in the household. However, according to Hatboro Fire Marshal Kate Valesky, those reports were unfounded as no humans were inside. The only occupant in the building was a household cat, which made it out of the dangerous situation unscathed.
“Multiple fire companies were dispatched at 5 p.m.,” Valesky said. “People reported fire out of the front window, but nobody was home at the time.”
According to Valesky, Upper Moreland Fire Department arrived first on the scene and was able to extinguish the fire.
“They constrained the fire to the front room of the apartment,” Valesky said. “A cat was trapped inside the building, but was found alive and well.”
The cat as originally going to be transported for an evaluation, but “seemed relatively fine,” according to Valesky.
No injuries were reported to emergency crew members or victims.
Emergency crews from Horsham Fire Company, Enterprise Fire Company of Hatboro, Upper Moreland Township Fire Company, and others, responded to the scene.
PECO was called to assess the scene.
