Upper Moreland Township Fire Department will throw open its bay doors on Tuesday, Oct. 22, and welcome community residents of all ages inside to see the trucks, meet the firefighters, and enjoy treats and give-a-ways. Kids are encouraged to wear Halloween costumes.
The open house will be 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the fire department at 227 Davisville Road, Willow Grove, featuring trucks, treats, ice cream, station tours, and give-a-ways.
“Our fire department exists for this community, and this is a night for all of us to get together and have some fun,” said Fire Chief Ed Glassman. “Come take a tour, see the trucks, enjoy some snacks and fire department merch, and ask your questions. We can’t wait!”
The event is also a great opportunity for anyone curious about volunteering to learn more, Glassman said. “Volunteer firefighting is a rewarding and exciting way to make a difference,” Glassman said. “You’ll always learn new things, you’ll make new friends, and you may help save a life.”
Upper Moreland is a combination department with both career and volunteer firefighters. No experience is needed, training is free. Learn more at UpperMorelandFire.org.
