First responders were called to a scene in Horsham Township on Tuesday afternoon for a vehicle rescue service.

Calls came into the Montgomery County Dispatch around 4:24 p.m. on Tuesday to Horsham and Norristown roads in the township. The initial calls requested assistance for a vehicle rescue.

The caller at the scene reported that a white Mazda and black Mercedez collided in the area. Airbags did deploy in the white Mazda. It was being loaded to be towed from the scene. One person reported that smoke was emitting from a steering wheel, and that a baby in its car seat was in one of the vehicle’s backseats.

Responding to the call were Horsham Fire Company Ambulance, the Horsham Fire Company, and the Upper Moreland Township Fire Department.

Traffic is restricted in the area, with the southbound lanes of Horsham Road reduced to one lane, and no right turns being permitted onto Norristown Road from Horsham Road.

The condition of those involved was unknown at this time.
