The Hatboro Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a trucking company. A black hauling truck, with a red- and white-colored logo was involved in a hit-and-run incident on Friday, Oct. 4.

Hatboro police said that a large truck, pictured here, was attempting to make a right-hand turn onto Horsham Road from York Road in the borough on Friday around 3 p.m. In doing so, the truck struck a pedestrian crossing signal, police said.

“We have not identified the trucking company as of today,” said Chief of Police Mark D. Ruegg, of the Hatboro Police Department, on Monday morning. “The truck struck a pedestrian crossing post with the controls for pedestrians to press, to cross the street.”

Thankfully, Ruegg said, no other vehicles were involved or struck in the incident. However, the damage still leaves behind costly and necessary repairs to restore the intersection to its full, working order.

“As you can imagine, these controls can be quite expensive, so we hope to be able to find the truck so their insurance will cover the cost to fix or replace,” said Ruegg.

The driver of the black tractor trailer failed to stop or contact 911 to report the crash, as is required by law. Anyone with an information about the incident, including the identification of the trucking company depicted in the logo, should reach the Hatboro Police Department at 215-675-2832 and reference incident number 2024-06062.
