According to a 2015 study by BakerHostetler, one in five identity thefts were still conducted via paper records. Properly disposing of your secure paperwork is critical to keeping your personal information safe.
To help area residents keep their identities protected, state Senator Maria Collett and state Representative Melissa Cerrato will host a free paper-shredding event on Saturday, Oct. 5 from 10 a.m. to noon at the Workspace Property Trust parking lot in Horsham, located at 2 Walnut Grove Dr. in the township.
The event is held in partnership with ProShred Security, provides all within the district to get rid of unwanted, but potentially dangerous, paperwork in one simple stop.
“This event will provide an opportunity for community members to dispose of sensitive documents and paperwork in a convenient, timely, and secure way,” said media contact, Bailey Landis.
In addition to disposing of paperwork, community residents can also give back by providing a nonperishable food item for Family Promise Montco, a local nonprofit in Montgomery County providing services for those experiencing homelessness and basic needs insecurity.
