Not only are the holidays a time to reflect and be thankful, but they are also an ideal season to remember those less fortunate than yourself. The Horsham Township Police Department and the Horsham Giant food store are partnering up to reach that goal with you.
On Saturday, Dec. 14, the two will host Pack the Patrol Car 2024. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the police force will ask its residents to come out and support this unique food drive. Each year, the officers schedule a mid-December event to focus on helping the hungry.
“Our residents love to come together for this opportunity to donate for this wonderful cause,” said the department’s event page. “Stop on over to help us fill a police vehicle with nonperishable food items.”
The Pack the Patrol Car will be held right in front of the Giant, located at 314 Horsham Road, in the township. This way, it is not only a great centralized location easy to drop by during weekend chores, but it provides a place for folks to run in and purchase goods in an efficient way, too!
All donations collected at the Pack the Patrol Car will be used to benefit the St. Vincent de Paul Food Pantry. Operated in conjunction with the Diocese of Allentown, the food bank helps to serve those in and around the Bethlehem area.
Located at 551 Thomas St., in Bethlehem, the pantry is open the fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon, distributing the goods to those in need.
If you’d like to contribute to the Horsham police department’s efforts, stop by the drive on Saturday, Dec. 14. For more information, stay tuned into the department’s Facebook page here.
