An Upper Pottsgrove man has been arrested and charged with gun trafficking offenses related to the manufacturing and trafficking of ghost guns, Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele, Montgomery County Adult Probation and Parole Chief Kathleen Subbio, and Upper Pottsgrove Township Police Chief James H. Fisher announced Wednesday.

Tahmeir Wilson, 24, has been charged with running a corrupt organization, conspiracy, illegal firearms sales, dealing in proceeds of unlawful activities, criminal use of a communications device, and other firearms charges, authorities said.

The investigation began in December 2023, when Montgomery County Adult Probation and Parole conducted a home visit at Wilson’s home and found numerous items used in the manufacturing of privately made firearms aka ghost guns, according to authorities.

The parole department contacted Montgomery County detectives, who obtained a search warrant, where further evidence was found of firearm manufacturing, police said.

A search of Wilson’s property found tools needed to privately manufacture firearms, numerous personally-manufactured firearm lowers, multiple magazines including three drum mags, and two fully-completed ghost guns, authorities allege in a news release.

Police said there were multiple photos of completed guns beign offered for resale. A search of Wilson’s phone found various text messages related to the availability and sales of firearms made by Wilson, police said.

“The defendant created and distributed firearms,” said Steele. “Since privately made firearms have no serial numbers, this makes them virtually untraceable and poses a serious danger to the safety of our community.”

Wilson was arraigned Nov. 14 and sent to Montgomery County jail on $99.077 cash bail, authorities said.

A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Nov. 26 at 10 a.m. before Magisterial District Judge Maurice H. Saylor.

All suspects and defendants are innocent until proven guilty. This story was compiled using public court records.
