Well, she’s still a year short of legally drinking, but that didn’t stop the Friends of the Horsham Library from celebrating the big 2-0 of the township’s library.
Now in its 20th year, the Horsham Township Library took time out to celebrate its birthday last week. Council members including Bill Whiteside, Samantha Slaff, Ellen Zschunke, and Eric Glemser joined library staffing and the Library Board and Friends of the Library to enjoy the big milestone.
A family celebration kicked-off the occasions with a 2 to 3 p.m. event aimed at all ages, especially children, was hosted with a special visit from Lolly Hopwood. Later the same Saturday, adults were invited to a library reception with light refreshments, live musical performances, and raffles. The night even had a trivia match.
Since its inception, the library has come a long way. Now, in addition to filling a building with books for the entire community, it has also provided much more for the township.
“[The library is] a space where imagination, learning, and community thrives,” said the township’s social media post on the establishment. “It has evolved, adapted, and grown to meet the changing needs of our diverse community.”
Even beyond to its books, the Horsham Library is a way to unify the community.
“[The library has] programs, resources, and services that empower, inspire, and connect us all,” said the post. “Here’s to the next 20 years, and the countless stories, ideas, and connections that will unfold within its walls.”
We at Horsham Now wish the Horsham Library a very happy birthday!
