A new business opened its doors is Horsham Township this past weekend, and it is here to cater those of all ages.
Action Karate in Horsham hosted a grand opening celebration on Nov. 9 with free karate lessons, a chance to meet instructors, and an exhibition of the Action Karate National Performance Team. The event was even attended by Sharkey, the organization’s mascot.
Located at 508 Prudential Road, at Suite 200, the new location joins a franchised business, with alternative locations in a wide variety of communities in and around Montgomery County. From the Main Line to the Lehigh Valley, from New Jersey to Phoenixville, the Horsham space will join a long list of the company’s offerings in the Greater Philadelphia region.
“We saw an opportunity to bring a program to a wonderful community in Horsham,” said owner Sara Kuntz.
Kuntz said that Action Karate in Horsham hopes to be a place where families can unite.
“Our goal is to help the families in the Horsham Area grow together,” she said. “Our family-based martial arts use martial arts as the vehicle to help people become the best versions of themselves.”
These martial arts courses come in a variety of formats, for a variety of ages. With Adult Martial Art Classes, to classes for kids, Action Karate in Horsham brings excitement across the board, aimed at reaching any person interested. The business offers Special Needs Martial Art Classes, making the sport accessible to all.
Kuntz said that the traditional classes run in varied age groups, with Ninja Sharks for 3- to 6-year-olds, White to Purple Classes for those ages 7 to 12, and an adult class, which runs up through black belt. While the basics of martial arts are an essential piece to each course, how instructors approach each individual may vary.
“Every student receives different things,” said Kuntz. “Every class is themed around a black-belt skill: discipline, focus, control, and confidence.”
Even when learning the same core skills, the pathway to success can look differently for each student.
“All of the drills are designed to practice those life skills,” said the owner. “The personal attention to each is how we personalize the experience for everyone.”
Kuntz said, no matter how they get there, the end goal for each person that enters Action Karate Horsham is one in the same.
“Our goal is that all students leave with a smile on their face, sweating, and having grown toward their goal,” she said.
Action Karate Horsham is open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily but is closed on Sundays. For more information, email Action Karate Horsham at [email protected], visit https://actionkarate.net/locations/horsham/, or call 267-217-2130.
