State Senator Maria Collett ( of the 12th District, covering portions of Montgomery County) has announced $5.5 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program (RACP) grant funding for six community projects in her district.
“I’m proud to have advocated on behalf of these valuable investments which prioritize the safety and vitality of our communities,” said Senator Collett. “These projects will ensure our local law enforcement and public works employees have the facilities and resources they need, and create new, accessible recreational opportunities for residents of all walks of life.”
$1.3M for Gwynedd Mercy Academy, GMercyU
Gwynedd Mercy Academy High School – $300,000 for classroom enhancements and comprehensive infrastructure upgrades, including electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems.
Gwynedd Mercy University – $1,000,000 to renovate the Griffin Complex and the Waldron Center, including HVAC system replacement, flooring upgrades, ADA compliant restrooms and spectator seating, and other improvements.
“These grants represent a significant investment in our communities, enhancing educational facilities, supporting communal wellness and creating spaces that bring people together,” said Rep. Liz Hanbidge (of District 61 in Montgomery County). “From modernized classrooms to community centers with accessible amenities, this funding ensures that students, families, and residents of all ages can benefit from high-quality, safe, and inclusive spaces. I’m proud to support these projects, which will uplift our communities for years to come.”
$1.25M the Hatfield Township Public Safety Facility
Hatfield Township will receive $1,250,000 for safety and infrastructure improvements at the Hatfield Public Safety Facility.
"These funds are an important investment in the future of Hatfield Township,” said Rep. Steve Malagari (of District 53 in portions of Montgomery County). “Modernizing these facilities will help ensure that our local law enforcement has the tools and space they need to protect and support our residents effectively for years to come."
$500,000 for The Miracle Field of Horsham
The Miracle Field of Horsham has been awarded $500,000 for the construction of the Miracle Field, two ADA compliant restrooms, a playground, and other improvements to Deep Meadow Park.
“I’m honored to work alongside my colleagues in state and local government to make Horsham Miracle Field a reality for our community's kids,” said Rep. Melissa Cerrato (of District 151, covering portions of Montgomery County). “This $500,000 grant will go toward creating a welcoming space where athletes of all abilities and their families can come together to enjoy sports, make memories, and feel truly included. I look forward to seeing the impact this field will have on our community."
$750,000 for the Upper Moreland Township Police Department
Upper Moreland Township will receive $750,000 for Phase 2 of their Police Station construction project.
“This new facility is a critical investment in the safety and well-being of our community," said Rep. Nancy Guenst (of District 152, covering portions of Montgomery County). "With a modernized space that meets the needs of both the public and our law enforcement officers, we’re ensuring that our police have the resources to serve and protect with excellence.”
$1.7M for Whitpain Township Recreation Facility
Whitpain Township will receive $1,700,000 for the construction of the Whitpain Community Center, which will include two basketball courts, meeting rooms, a fitness center, elevating walking track and other features.
"I’m thrilled for a new community center, which will enhance the quality of life of our Whitpain Township neighbors," said Rep. Matt Bradford (of District 70, covering portions of Montgomery County). "This funding will go a long way to support this project and I’m grateful to the Shapiro Administration for investing in our community.”
The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a Commonwealth grant program administered by the Governor’s Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.
