The Horsham Township Council met on Dec. 11 for its monthly municipal meeting. During that time, the board adopted the 2025 budget with no tax increases for the township.
The board also approved the designation of Military Installation Remediation and Infrastructure Authority (MIRIA) grant funds for 2025. The grant will cover the construction of the Horsham Road and Limekiln Pike Intersection Improvement Project.
The township is in the process of completing right-of-way acquisition, and construction is expected to begin next year. If there are funds remaining after that project, other improvements within the township will be made, such as landscape improvements, road widenings, the Horsham Bridge replacement, and property acquisitions.
The board also approved the construction of a 4,000-square-foot maintenance building within Whitemarsh Cemetery. The current maintenance building is located on the south side of Horsham Road, but the goal of the project is to construct a facility inside the cemetery for staff convenience and to prevent further accidents on the road. The steel building will feature a bathroom and a lunchroom for its staff.
