The Upper Moreland Board of Commissioners convened for its monthly meeting. One of its primary items on the agenda was the 2025 budget.
The board made a motion to approve the 2025 Preliminary Budget, which did include a 3.23% tax increase for township residents. According to commissioners, this will result in approximately $32 per year for properties assessed at the Township average of $138,691. It was also proposed that the Refuse Fee of $215 remain unchanged.
“[The board] did a great job of keeping this percentage down, so we are thankful,” the board’s president, Kip McFatridge announced during the public meeting.
Overall, the 2025 Preliminary Budget proposes expenditures of $27,526,878 in order to maintain funding for all current municipal services while also allocating approximately $590,000 for road improvements and $449,021 for equipment purchases from the capital reserve fund. These totals reflect a 2.06% increase from the 2024 budget.
Based on these totals, Upper Moreland Township is expected to have $5.6 million in reserve funds as of Dec. 31, 2024. This amount is equivalent to 20.5% of proposed expenditures in 2025.
