An altercation at a Cheltenham Township Five Below retail store resulted in a stabbing Friday night in the Wyncote section of the community.
According to Cheltenham Township Police, they are now currently seeking the public’s assistance in the incident, as they attempt to locate the two allegedly involved in the incident.
On Friday, Dec. 6, around 6:29 p.m., calls of a stabbing came into police, stating that an employee of the store had been stabbed. According to the Cheltenham Police Facebook page, the employee was the Five Below’s Loss Prevention Officer, and it was regarding a theft. The store is located in the Cheltenham Mall, 2401 W. Cheltenham Ave., in the Wyncote section of the township.
“During the altercation, the male offender stabbed the Loss Prevention Officer, resulting in life-threatening injuries,” said the post. “The victim underwent emergency surgery at an area trauma center.”
According to police, the suspects then fled toward Philadelphia. The officer's current condition was not released to the public at this time.
